MICHAEL CARPENTER - BIO:

Michael Carpenter is an Internet Musician, with several sites showcasing his original music. He's been writing songs since 1974, when he first took up guitar. Two years later he switched to bass, and that has been his main instrument ever since. His musical education includes a year in college as a music major, a course in record engineering, and many years of gigging in a succession of various bands, with appearances on tv and radio.

In 2001 he released his first solo album, a four-song selection of demos called Skies. Since then he's been writing and recording at a furious rate. 2003 saw a second album, A Man Alone. This album features 12 songs, with a mix of old and new material. Besides bass and guitar, he also plays keyboards and mandolin on the album, as well as all the vocal duties.

2005 brought a new album, The World At Large. Once again Mike handled most of the instruments, as well as writing all the material. Eleven (mostly) new songs with a much more 'evolved' sound, thanks to having done some of the work on eight tracks, as opposed to four on the previous album.

Currently, Mike is living in England, where he is focusing on composing and keyboard skills. He also dabbles in writing slightly more complex orchestral pieces, such as String Quartet #1 in A Minor, which can be heard on several of the online sites.
